Commerce Court West, designed by prominent architect I. M. Pei, was my professional home for over 35 years. In this composition, it is deliberately situated in the foreground, reflecting its central position on Bay Street. Stitched figures, modeled after William McElcheran’s sculptures found throughout the financial district, are integrated into the streetscape to convey the energy and commercial activity that characterize Bay Street.
