CIBC Square

Observing the development of CIBC Square in Toronto’s financial district, I was struck by the bold glass architecture, reminiscent of the traditional tumbling blocks quilt pattern. The building provided an ideal subject for textile representation. Fabrics were custom printed from a photograph taken along the highway, and both the quilt design and stitching replicate the diamond motif found in the building’s glasswork.
